The Connetquot T-Birds will challenge the Huntington Blue Devils at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Connetquot will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Connetquot got the win against Lindenhurst by a conclusive 3-0.
Connetquot never let Lindenhurst on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 25-15.
Connetquot's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Elena Carro, who had five digs and two aces, and Gisele Trzaskalski, who had eight kills, eight digs, two aces, and one block. That's the most aces Carro has posted over her last eight contests. Leah White also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Connetquot was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Huntington lost 3-0 to Connetquot two weeks ago.
The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-10.
Huntington's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Connetquot, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2-1.
Connetquot took their win against Huntington in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the T-Birds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
