Football Preview: Paraclete Spirits vs. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors        
        
		
             The Paraclete Spirits will take on the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Paraclete will be strutting in after a  win while St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will be coming in after a  loss.
 Last Friday, Paraclete got the win against Village Christian  by a conclusive  42-20. That looming  42-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spirits yet this  season.
 A big part of Paraclete's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Joseph Mesa and his top target  Savaughn Gentle. Mesa threw for 423 yards and six touchdowns while completing 87.8% of his passes while  Gentle picked up 193 receiving yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance,  Mesa is now averaging an impressive 3.2  passing touchdowns per game. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eric Green, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Paraclete's defense and their four sacks.  Jeffrey Patino was especially locked on to Village Christian's QB and sacked him twice.
 Meanwhile, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They fell  34-27 to Carson. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
 Paraclete now  has a winning record of 3-2. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
