Recap: Decatur Bulldogs vs. Arabia Mountain Rams
The Decatur Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 72-19 defeat at the hands of Arabia Mountain. Decatur was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Nadiya Mohamed and
Ryan Elmahdi, who each put up seven points.
It was another big night for Shanya Heath, who scored 26 points along with six assists and three steals for Arabia Mountain. Heath has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Angelina Billingsley, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Decatur has fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 4-7. As for Arabia Mountain, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Decatur will be playing at home against Carver at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Arabia Mountain, they will head out on the road to take on Clarke Central at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clarke Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Arabia Mountain is ranked 92nd).
