Volleyball Recap: Triad Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Triad challenged West Liberty-Salem on Tuesday. The Cardinals took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Triad was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made West Liberty-Salem work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 27-25, 22-25, 25-16.

Reagyn Welty paced Triad's offense, picking up 12 kills. Welty got some help from Jenna Jones and her 20 assists.

Triad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Triad wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Northeastern on the 21st. West Liberty-Salem has also already played their next contest (against Indian Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
