Lakeland is 6-1 against Lake Wales since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lakeland Dreadnaughts will challenge the Lake Wales Highlanders at 8:00 p.m. Lakeland will be strutting in after a victory while Lake Wales will be coming in after a defeat.

Lakeland is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since January 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kathleen 76-47. Given the Dreadnaughts' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Red Devils are ranked 626th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lake Wales suffered their closest loss since December 4, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Haines City by a score of 71-68.

With the victory, Lakeland broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4. As for Lake Wales, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Lakeland strolled past Lake Wales in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 by a score of 87-72. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
