Baseball Recap: Independence/Gilmanton Comes Up Short

Independence/Gilmanton fell victim to Eleva-Strum and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The defeat continues a trend for the Indees in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost six in a row.

Independence/Gilmanton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Eleva-Strum, the victory was the 13th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence/Gilmanton will head out to square off against Osseo-Fairchild at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Indees surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eleva-Strum, they will challenge Fall Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
