Recap: Stafford Trojans vs. Reno County HomeSchool Sabres
The Stafford Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 52-34 fall against Reno County HomeSchool. That's two games in a row now that Stafford has lost by exactly 18 points.
When it comes to explaining why Stafford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ines Garcia. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor Denio, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Anne Schawe was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 22 points along with nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Spexarth, who scored four points along with two steals.
Stafford has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Reno County HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.
Stafford on the road again on Tuesday and play against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Fairfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Monday. Reno County HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Goessel at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
