Basketball Recap: Sharpstown Takes a Loss

Sharpstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Spring Woods Tigers, falling 61-9. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Apollos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-14 back in November of 2024.

Spring Woods' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anjalena Salazar, who posted 20 points and six steals. Salazar has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Brittany Bargas was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven steals.

Sharpstown's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Spring Woods, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Sharpstown will host Waltrip at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Sharpstown is facing Waltrip at the right time seeing as Waltrip is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Spring Woods, they will venture away from home to challenge Galena Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Woods is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
