Basketball Recap: Pilibos Skates Past Le Lycee with Ease

Pilibos had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Le Lycee Lions 89-38. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Pilibos got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aren Iskenderian out in front who went 8 of 9 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. Those 17 points gave Iskenderian a new career-high. Chris Dirartinian was another key player, shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Pilibos is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Le Lycee, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pilibos won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Holy Martyrs Armenian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Martyrs Armenian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Pilibos likes a good challenge. As for Le Lycee, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Buckley at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
