Volleyball Recap: Winchester Community Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cambridge City Lincoln on Thursday, Winchester Community came back down to earth. The Golden Falcons took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Palestine Dragons on Saturday. The Golden Falcons haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15.

Leading New Palestine to victory were Azure Flagle and Samantha Gooding. Flagle had eight digs and three aces, while Gooding had 16 assists. Gooding is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Winchester Community's loss dropped their record down to 22-4. As for New Palestine, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3.

Winchester Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Greenwood Christian Academy on the 4th. As for New Palestine, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Seton Catholic on the 4th.
