Softball Recap: Vallejo Redhawks vs. De Anza Dons

Vallejo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 24-5 to the De Anza Dons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Vallejo of the 22-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Wednesday.

Maddie Melgoza was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

On De Anza's side, Mya Arroyo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit.
