Football Recap: Cross Plains Buffaloes vs. Haskell Indians
Cross Plains kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 50-13 loss at the hands of the Haskell Indians. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Haegen Pinkerton was a one-man wrecking crew For Haskell. as he rushed for 113 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes. What's more, Pinkerton racked up 142.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Ethan Camaco was another key player, rushing for 94 yards and two scores on only 13 carries.
Coming up, Cross Plains will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Haskell, they will venture away from home to challenge Quanah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
