Softball Game Preview: North Dallas Bulldogs vs. Carter Cowboys

North Dallas is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Carter is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. North Dallas will host Carter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Dallas' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Conrad as North Dallas made off with a 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Alizea Puente looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Kiyonna Foster was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Shakira Navarro was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

North Dallas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .543 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Carter won against Roosevelt on Tuesday with 28 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Carter didn't even let Roosevelt on the board, marking Carter's second-straight 28-0 shutout.

Carter is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.4 runs over those games. North Dallas now has a winning record of 8-7.

Everything went North Dallas' way against Carter when the teams last played back in February, as North Dallas made off with a 14-2 victory. Will North Dallas repeat their success, or does Carter has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
