Western has gone 9-1 against Northwestern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Panthers will face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Western 3.6, Northwestern 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Western is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let West Lafayette get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Meanwhile, Northwestern sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Maconaquah on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won eight in a row.

Northwestern's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chase DeWitt, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Western's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Northwestern, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.

Western came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwestern in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
