Basketball Recap: Center Takes a Loss

Center lost against Del Norte back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Center Vikings fell 42-33 to the Del Norte Tigers. The Vikings' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Del Norte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lashawn Trujillo, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Trujillo has become a key player for Del Norte: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tytus Atencio, who posted 14 points.

Center's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for Del Norte, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Center has already played their next contest, a 56-41 loss against Cotopaxi on the 8th. As for Del Norte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-27 win against Walsenburg on the 8th.
