Recap: Yantis Owls vs. Union Hill Bulldogs
The Yantis Owls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 57-50 victory over Union Hill. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Yantis also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Brant Harville was a one-man wrecking crew for Yantis as he scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harville has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Lopez, who scored eight points.
Union Hill's loss came despite strong showings from EJ Mowery and Logan Dunn. Mowery scored 21 points, while Dunn scored 18 points.
Yantis' victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Union Hill, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yantis will face off against Sulphur Bluff at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Bluff is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Union Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Avery at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
