Volleyball Recap: McKinley Comes Up Short

McKinley lost against Girard back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Red Dragons lost 3-0 to the Indians.

McKinley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16, 25-17.

Caroline Cormell paced McKinley's offense, picking up seven kills. Cormell got some help from Emily Marino and her seven assists. Ariana Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Girard found their leader in sophomore Chloe Plant, who had 22 assists and five aces. Plant is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke Perry, who had five aces and two blocks.

McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Girard, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

McKinley has already played their next game (against Hubbard), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Girard, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Mineral Ridge on the 25th.
