It was a good run, but Western Reserve unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Edison Chargers by a score of 3-2. The Roughriders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Western Reserve sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 18-25, 15-11.
Emma Hammond paced Western Reserve's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hammond got some help from Jamie Muenz and her 39 assists. Makayla Case controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.
Western Reserve's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Edison, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.
Western Reserve wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Crestview on the 16th. As for Edison, they will host Willard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
