Recap: Jensen Beach Falcons vs. Cardinal Newman Crusaders
If the Jensen Beach Falcons were riding high off their 70-37 takedown of the St. Edward's Pirates on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jensen Beach suffered a rough 79-56 defeat at the hands of Cardinal Newman on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Jensen Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Cardinal Newman is ranked 155th).
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cordell Wilkins, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Jason Curry jr. was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds.
Jensen Beach now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Cardinal Newman, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.
