Basketball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Skyline can now relate to. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakwood Academy Mustangs on Tuesday. The Vikings have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Oakwood Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Germono, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Germono has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Morton, who posted 14 points.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Oakwood Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-8.

Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakwood Academy, they will take on Hatch at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Hatch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Oakwood Academy likes a good challenge.
