Volleyball Recap: Central Dauphin East Takes a Loss

Central Dauphin East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Carlisle Thundering Herd, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.

Marcello Burton paced Central Dauphin East's offense, picking up 13 kills. Burton got some help from Pramesh Gurung and his 21 assists. Burton also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Preston Sok, racking up two apiece.

Central Dauphin East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Carlisle, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coincidentally, Central Dauphin East and Carlisle will both be playing Altoona the next time they take the court. The Thundering Herd will host the Mountain Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
