Basketball Recap: Providence Athletic Club Falls Despite Big Games from Anabel Catone and Morgan Huckaby

If Providence Athletic Club was riding high fresh off their 45-20 takedown of Easley HomeSchool two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Providence Athletic Club Panthers fell to the Wardlaw Academy Patriots 47-43. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 42-31.

Providence Athletic Club's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Morgan Huckaby, who posted 15 points along with seven steals and six boards, and Anabel Catone, who had 19 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Huckaby has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia James, who put up five points and three blocks.

Providence Athletic Club now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Wardlaw Academy, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Providence Athletic Club didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-30 loss against South Charlotte on the 4th. As for Wardlaw Academy, they will take on Providence Athletic Club at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
