It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but South San Antonio ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Winn Mavericks, sneaking past 3-1. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 win the Mavericks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

South San Antonio's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Felix Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Those two hits gave Ramirez a new career-high.

South San Antonio has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run this season. As for Winn, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, South San Antonio will challenge East Central at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Winn, they will square off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday.
