Softball Recap: Indio Victorious

Indio was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Apple Valley Sun Devils.

Kaila Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Audra Higgins, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaeda Diaz, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Indio now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Apple Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Indio didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against Liberty on the 21st. As for Apple Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-9 tie against Sultana on the 20th.
