Soccer Recap: Porter Ridge Comes Up Short

Porter Ridge lost against Marvin Ridge back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates fell 2-0 to the Mavericks. While losing is never fun, Porter Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Marvin Ridge are ranked sixth).

This is the second loss in a row for Porter Ridge and nudges their season record down to 7-5-4. As for Marvin Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Porter Ridge is set to take on their familiar foe Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge will challenge rival Cuthbertson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
