Basketball Recap: Rugby Takes a Loss

Rugby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dunseith Dragons. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Rugby's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Dunseith, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Coming up, Rugby will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against New Town at 7:00 p.m. New Town knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Rugby likes a good challenge. As for Dunseith, they will head out on the road to square off against Bottineau at 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
