Basketball Recap: Maekayla Rameau Key Part of Team Effort in Blue Streaks Win

Sandusky hadn't done well against Ross recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Sandusky Blue Streaks had just enough and edged the Ross Little Giants out 70-67. This was payback for the Blue Streaks, who suffered a 74-30 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sandusky got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maekayla Rameau out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Rameau a new career-high. Shauntha Wilson was another key player, going 9-for-20 to rack up 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Sandusky was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Sandusky has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Ross, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Sandusky wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 75-58 victory against Madison Comprehensive on the 13th. As for Ross, they will square off against Start at 7:30 p.m. on February 19th.
