Recap: Fayetteville Wolves vs. Comer Tigers
The Fayetteville Wolves fell victim to the Comer Tigers''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Fayetteville has struggled against Comer recently, as their match on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Comer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raelon Sims led the charge by rushing for 33 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 54 receiving yards. Richard Weed also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Fayetteville's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Thorsby (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Comer, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fayetteville will take on Holy Spirit Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Comer will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Washington County at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
