Basketball Recap: Hayfield Picks Up 19th Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Hayfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They breezed by the Annandale Atoms to the tune of 93-51 on Monday. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hayfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker Cage, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points. The dominant performance gave Cage a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Lemon, who went 7 of 9 en route to 21 points and five boards.

Hayfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Hayfield's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Annandale, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Hayfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-38 victory against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology on the 30th. Annandale has also already played their next game, a 60-48 win against Justice on the 30th.
