Softball Recap: Powell County Takes a Loss

Powell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-6 to the Browning Runnin Indians. The Wardens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Runnin Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Powell County saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Hunter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Hunter has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another was Ashlynd Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Powell County's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Browning, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Looking ahead, Powell County will challenge Whitefish at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Browning, they will head out on the road to challenge Anaconda at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
