Recap: Independent Panthers vs. Kingman Eagles

The Independent Panthers came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Kingman by a score of 48-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Independent also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Independent's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sir Ryan Dennis led the charge by scoring nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kingston Selmon, who scored eight points.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tristen Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Chase Webster was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Independent's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Kingman, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independent will face off against Cheney at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cheney will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Independent surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kingman, they will head out on the road to square off against Medicine Lodge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Kingman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
