Softball Recap: Millennium Comes Up Short

Millennium couldn't beat River Islands on Wednesday even though they stacked ten runs on them in the sixth inning. The Falcons lost 20-14 to the Riptide. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Riptide apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Ivanna Montoya led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Vivian Fong was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Millennium has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for River Islands, their record now sits at 7-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Riptide beat Millennium by a score of 13-2 on Thursday.
