Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games + How To Watch

Mt. Vernon was the 3-0 winner over Guerin Catholic when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Marauders came up short against the Golden Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Marauders were not able to get on the board.

While Mt. Vernon ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Alivia Morgan and Jaycee Jones, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Amelia Anderson and her 14 assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mt. Vernon fell to 7-1. As for Guerin Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will face off against North Central at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Guerin Catholic, they will square off against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Golden Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
