Basketball Recap: Tempe Takes a Loss

Tempe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cortez Colts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-51 back in January.

Giselle Contreras Rodriguez was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 16 points.

Tempe's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Cortez, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Tempe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-24 loss against Coronado on the 31st. As for Cortez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-52 defeat against Desert Sunrise on the 31st.
