Baseball Recap: Trinity Episcopal Gets the Win

Collegiate typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Trinity Episcopal proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Cougars on Tuesday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Parker Boyd looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Clay Bailey, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Trinity Episcopal and bumps their season record up to 9-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Collegiate, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-5.

Coincidentally, Trinity Episcopal and Collegiate will both be playing Life Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Titans will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
