Football Recap: Niwot Takes a Loss

Niwot extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-5. They were outmatched by the Timnath Cubs and fell 49-7. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.

Braxton Logue threw for 206 yards and one TD. Eli Quesada was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and one score.

As for Timnath, they now have a winning record of 4-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timnath to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Raymond, who threw for 192 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Raymond's passing game has become a key predictor of the Cubs' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Another back making a difference was Mitchell Deangelis, who rushed for 98 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Niwot has already played their next game, a 53-6 win against Greeley Central on the 24th. As for Timnath, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-7 defeat against Windsor on the 24th.
