Softball Recap: Williamson Find Success

Williamson proved they can win big on Monday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Wellsboro Hornets 6-5. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kenna Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lexi Smalley, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Williamson's record is now 11-7. As for Wellsboro, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Looking ahead, Williamson will head out to challenge Northern Potter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Wellsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
