Softball Game Preview: Wilsonville Wildcats vs. Hood River Valley Eagles

The Wilsonville Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Hood River Valley Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wilsonville 3.7, Hood River Valley 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wilsonville blew St. Helens out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday St. Helens got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-2. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Hood River Valley entered their match against Canby on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-1. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Hood River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Wilsonville, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Everything went Wilsonville's way against Hood River Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Wilsonville made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
