Basketball Recap: Greenwood Takes a Loss

Greenwood lost against Kosciusko back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Greenwood Bulldogs fell to the Kosciusko Whippets 52-47.

Cory Guyton Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kosciusko, going 8 of 16 en route to 18 points. Guyton Jr is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Caiden Wade was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Greenwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Kosciusko, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Greenwood is taking a road trip to square off against Caledonia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kosciusko has already played their next contest (against Noxubee County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
