Volleyball Preview: East Gaston Warriors vs. South Point Red Raiders
The East Gaston Warriors will square off against the South Point Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Gaston will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
Last Tuesday, East Gaston came up short against Highland Tech and fell 3-1.
While East Gaston had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-18, 23-25, 25-17.
Meanwhile, South Point got the win against North Gaston on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.
While South Point might've won, it sure wasn't easy: North Gaston scored at least points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-11, 25-4.
South Point's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Piper King, who had six aces, and Kaitlyn Ledford, who had six digs and three aces.
East Gaston's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for South Point, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
