Softball Recap: Anaconda Copperheads vs. Thompson Falls Blue Hawks

Anaconda had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-4 to make it four. They lost 15-4 to the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 on Wednesday.

As for Thompson Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Thompson Falls' part, Sarah Koskela was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Koskela has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Thompson Falls got a massive performance out of Teagan Saner, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Saner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Annalise Fairbank, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Anaconda will take on Ennis at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thompson Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
