Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Valley Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Makay Fraley put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 25-4-1. As for Yuma Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yuma Catholic, they will square off against Show Low at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Shamrocks 1.8, the Cougars 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
