Recap: Watsonville Wildcatz vs. Damonte Ranch Mustangs

The Watsonville Wildcatz's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 73-28 loss at the hands of Damonte Ranch. While losing is never fun, Watsonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 738th in California, while Damonte Ranch is ranked third in Nevada).

Damonte Ranch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeriah Macias led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 3 steals. The contest was Macias' third in a row with at least ten points. Shane Sisco was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Watsonville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Damonte Ranch, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Watsonville will be playing at home against Everett Alvarez at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Everett Alvarez knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Watsonville likes a good challenge. Damonte Ranch's road trip will continue as they head out to face Monte Vista Christian at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th. Monte Vista Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.2 points per game.
