Basketball Game Preview: Harbor Beach Pirates vs. New Standard Academy Spartans

The Harbor Beach Pirates will take on the New Standard Academy Spartans on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Harbor Beach sitting on 17 straight victories and New Standard Academy on six.

Harbor Beach saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They breezed past Brown City to the tune of 69-33. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, New Standard Academy beat Millington 65-61 on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Cardinals are ranked 84th).

Harbor Beach's victory bumped their record up to 23-1. As for New Standard Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
