Basketball Recap: Canyon Springs Cougars vs. Vista del Lago Ravens
Even though the Vista del Lago Ravens scored an imposing 56 points on Wednesday, the Canyon Springs Cougars still came out on top. Canyon Springs walked away with a 68-56 win over the Ravens. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Canyon Springs.
It was another big night for Derek Williams, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kayden Mims, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julian Rivera, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Rivera continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cameon Sims was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Canyon Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Vista del Lago, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Canyon Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Vista del Lago also has no future games currently scheduled.
