Basketball Recap: Emmett Finds Playoff Glory Versus Columbia

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Emmett had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Columbia Wildcats with a sharp 44-22 win. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Emmett's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalie Goslin led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Goslin has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 18 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Hadley, who posted six points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Emmett and bumps their season record up to 13-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.

Emmett didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-37 defeat against Jerome on the 15th. Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
