Volleyball Recap: Mountain Ridge Takes Down Ranked Wasatch

Mountain Ridge faced Wasatch in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Sentinels blew past the Wasps 3-0. The win was familiar territory for the Sentinels, who have now won four matches in a row.

While Mountain Ridge won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 27-25, 25-21.

Mountain Ridge was led to victory by Xander Colemere and Mason McNees. Colemere had ten digs and three aces, while McNees had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces McNees has posted since back in March.

Mountain Ridge's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Wasatch, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Coming up, Mountain Ridge will host Herriman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Sentinels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wasatch, they will head out on the road to take on Timpview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wasps are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
