Section 11 Division III recap October 8, 2013
Miller Place extended the longest winning streak in Section 11 Division III this week by beating Bellport, 15-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Eastport-South Manor scaled the state rankings by moving to 274 from 384 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Sharks climbed the ranks as a result of beating Hauppauge 22-18.
Ade Nelson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Comsewogue fell to Westhampton Beach.
Austin Macchi put up the best numbers in passing as Eastport-South Manor defeated the Eagles. He finished with a total of 6 completions for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Clippers' Nick Fountis and Andrew Trent led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Fountis has thrown for 361 yards this season, while Trent has 7 catches for 203 yards. The Warriors' Nelson leads the league in rushing yards with 767.
At the moment, the Hurricanes are in seventh, while Huntington is in third.
Islip was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Section 11 Division III. The Buccaneers vanquished Rocky Point 35-20 earlier in the week.
