Volleyball Recap: Ansley/Litchfield Spartans vs. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs

Ansley/Litchfield proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on three straight.
Ansley/Litchfield was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-14, 17-25, 25-23, 15-10.
Asia Lyon paced Ansley/Litchfield's offense, picking up 13 kills. Lyon got some help from Caydence Feldman and her 34 assists. Feldman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Despite the loss, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Hrasky had 32 digs. Hrasky is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Harder, who had ten digs and nine assists.
Ansley/Litchfield's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ansley/Litchfield will challenge Ravenna on Friday. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they will face off against Loomis at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
