Elkhart never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Goshen RedHawks with a sharp 7-0 win. The Lions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024.

Quinn Rost made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rost was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

In other pitching news, Trevor Hilliard looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Rost wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Pettis, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Pettis has posted since back in April of 2024. Max Shreiner was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Elkhart back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Elkhart will be playing in front of their home fans against South Bend Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Goshen, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.
